Misunderstood
They laugh at him,
And he laughs too
Not knowing,
He is the joke.
They mock him,
And he’s right there,
And he doesn’t understand.
They call him names,
And he finally realizes,
And is hurt,
But they don’t apologize.
He’s different.
But what right does that give them
To mock him?
He’s not as smart.
He’s not as athletic.
But, he is better than they are.
For he,
He may not be
Fast,
Smart,
Or even handsome.
But he is
What they are not.
He Cares.
And he
Asks me
If I’m okay.
And says hello to all.
And he doesn’t judge.
Simply put,
He is
Kind.
So, don’t mock him.
And don’t pity him.
He deserves neither.
Treat him,
Like who he is
Treat him,
Like a person.
Treat him
Like a kind soul.
And when
You want to mock him,
Whether it be
Because of your own feelings,
Or because everyone else is,
Think more of yourself,
Think more of him,
Think how you would feel,
And just don’t.
