Guardian Angel
Riding on the broken wings of an angel
I cry looking down on my world in flames
Landing in a secret garden
I ask the angel why?
She looks at me with a face so familiar
Tears of blood running down her face
She has open wounds that never heal
Her white gown blood stained
Whispering with a weak voice she said
“You have never met me but you know me
I have been there since you took your first breathe
And I will be there when you take your last”
“I shielded you from danger you didn’t see
I stopped your tears when you cried
I carried you through the obstacles of life
I saved you from death”
“I watched as you fell to pieces
But I helped you bounce back
Now glare into the lake of life
And tell me who I am”
Looking down in the mirror water
I see my own reflection
Looking around there is no one
But looking into the pool
Stood a guardian angel
