Did you ever wonder about life?
In someone else’s shoes?
Wondering what now?
How do I know what to do?
What if all she said was true?
Beatings, cussing, fights,
Did you really think it could be true?
No, you just sat there and laughed.
Until the day she wasn’t at school at all.
Because she had her head in a rope.
All her life was wasted because no one would listen.
She trusted you and you let her down.
Now what do you do?
You knew and did nothing.
You knew but told her,
Shove off!
She did as you asked but
She never knew you cared.
