Goodbye
In an old church basement
In the middle of town,
Tables of people,
A room full of sound.
Trays filled with cookies,
Coffee in mugs.
Friends and family are laughing
And giving out hugs.
We've just said goodbye,
It's all said and done.
The service is over,
Our grandpa is gone.
He's here in our hearts
Where he never will die.
It'll be hard to get through this,
But well have to try,
The parking lot is empty,
We're all going home.
The basement is dark now,
The church stands alone.
But above in the Heavens,
Standing next to his wife,
Leo's thanking the Lord
For a wonderful life.
