The cool tree
Against my back
I yawn
I stretch out

My hands,
The palm trees of this yard

My eyes flutter open
The birds chirp
Seemingly loud

I groan
The sunlight burns
against my newly rested eyes
Yawns consume me

What I wouldn’t give
For a time in which
To relax
In such a summer’s rest
Once more
