The Kraken
Once upon a broken sea,
Sailed a captain and his mate.
In there lives a chilling fiend
 To determine the sailors' fate.

 The captain glides with pride
 Along the oceans peaceful feel.
When out arises a sea creature
 Too monstrous to be real.

 The beast extends its limbs
 Across the blackened sky
 And scoops the frightened fisherman
 Up facing one pool-sized eye.

 The brute opens its mouth,
 As wide as a cave.
 The skipper smiles cleverly
As if he can be brave.

 Alas! The hero jumps
 Down into its great chops,
 He chokes the hopeless swine
 And its massive skull drops.

 The two men swim away.
And escape from the jaws of death,
And sail away while they watch
The monster exhale its last breath.
