An old story
A villanelle, you say?
It sounds like a tale of good and bad;
It sounds a bit cliché.
A poem, old as day.
It’s actually a little sad.
A villanelle, you say?
Reminicient of some sort of play.
Feels like another stupid fad,
It sounds a bit cliché.
The kind that were watched by Great-Grandads.
A waste of money; I think you’ve been had!
A villanelle, you say?
But you know, I guess it’s O-Kay,
In the end, as long as you’re glad.
It sounds a bit cliché.
Even though you were forced to pay, it’s just money, An-ee-way.
Just what ever you do, don’t be crass, and do not be mad.
A villanelle, you say?
It sounds a bit cliché.
