The Storm
Heavy, gray clouds ready to burst
Let forth great drops of rain
The water cascades onto the earth
And washes the dry terrain
The wind subsides, the clouds evanesce
As the end of the storm draws nigh
The sun reemerges in all its glory
And a rainbow hangs high in the sky
Sunbeams dance in a ray of light
So elusive and yet so real
I reach out and try to catch one
But there’s nothing I can feel
