can I live upon this earth
when all I feel is pain?
and even though the sun shines bright, all I can feel is rain?
why does it hurt
why can't I see
why I should stay and live
why have I run all out of smiles and worthwhile things to give?
why does it sting like iron blade and ache like bruising bone?
how can I stay and live this life of dark and dismal tone?
the sound of starlight sings to me
and tells me I should sleep, but in my heart I know I can't, I've gone too far, too deep.
and so I lay down one last time and leave a note to say, I'm sorry, I cannot go on. I have to go away.
