One Ballerina
Ballerina, slim and tall, in a frilly skirt
Flaming halo 'round her head, 'round her stage much mirth
Singing, clapping hands, as she, on her creamy dais
With cherry footlights illumined flickers in the gaze
Of fifteen tiny humans. One final pirouette,
A screwed up nose, a whispered wish, a sudden 'whoosh' of breath.
