Here inside
Do you ever
Begin to wonder
What there is
That’s out there?
I often do
Because I can’t see
Past the door
Or the glass
The outside
Is hidden from me
Locked up
Here inside
The confines
Built around my mind
Through the years
Won’t open
I can’t pass
The locked up doors
That keep me
Here inside
I don’t want
To stay here any more
What I want
Is to go
To redeem
Myself from this prison
But I can’t
I just can’t
I cannot
Do anything to leave
I have tried
I’ve failed
I’ll not stop
I’ll try the harder
For the fear
Of staying
Here within
Without hope or love
From someone
Else outside.
