The Quest of the Traveler
the lone and weary traveler
makes his way across the land
he knows not what will greet him there
but he trusts in his right hand
the lone and weary traveler
no obstacle will stop him
through freeze, fire, and Indian kings
he wears his cocky grin
the lone and weary traveler
scales mountains in the night
their rocky faces only grow
his inner urge to fight
the lone and weary traveler
finds himself a native dame
to quench lust he lies her down
for him love is a game
the lone and weary traveler
lays his waste to the land
the villagers thought him a fool
now their blood is on the sand
the lone and weary traveler
guilt-ridden by his act
steals away into the dust
bound to the wicked pact
the lone and weary traveler
rides atop his red steed
whether dead or breathing hard
he'll kill the demon's seed
the lone and weary traveler
pulls the reigns when he's there
the shadow's weight is heavy
and he feels their evil stare
the lone and weary traveler
climbs through the citadel
at the top he finds the man
who gave him heaven and hell
the lone and weary traveler
says "Why must you torture me?"
the man in black just looks, laughs
"It was not me, you see,"
"You chose your fate.
It will never change.
Your hate is your disguise.
All the kings across the land
Will aid in your demise.
You hurt them, you stole from them,
but the worst offense...
you Lied.
So my boy what will it be?
Your mem'ries or your pride?"
the lone and weary traveler
knew not what to do
so he knelt before the man
and gave him what was due
the mighty man in black
having conquered his rival
disappeared into the dark
leaving the traveler
with survival
