Alfred Wegener
Alfred Wegener
Wegener was a weather man
Who instead studied the land
Wegener noticed coastlines matching
Even though few scientists gave their backing
By 1915 he published his theories
Many scientists still had queries
Wegener’s father-in-law was annoyed
Thought land he should avoid
Wegener thought many were narrow minded
That they should instead be excited
In 1926 Wegener became a weather professor
He was no longer seen as a guesser
In 1930 he went to Greenland for the last time
Wegener died in that clime
Years later Hess proposed how the continents moved
Thus Wegener’s theories were, lo and behold, proved
