The Permit
As the pedal goes down even farther the happier I become.
The quicker things fly by.
The freedom that comes with it.
The back country roads beneath the truck.
The wind coming through the open windows and the music up loud.
The happieness. No questions about that.
The only question is if i am centered.
Oh well, there is time and space.
Then I hear a voice sounding like it's next to me.
Saying watch your speed.
Your not driving by yourself yet.
Then it all comes crashing down.
I still only have my permit.
