Lost Memory
Where have the days gone
I’m young, but looking back
I’m caused to wonder
Just where memory has fled
Some random flashes
All unretainable
Passing in and through
Before I can really see
Looking back there now
I wonder where they’ve gone
All my memories
Gone away, past my reach
It’s been a long while
Since I knew what there was
About who I am
That came out of my past
Who was I back then?
What was it that I thought?
How can I know me
If my past is missing?
I know what I do
But how can I know why
If my past is gone
Will I be a stranger
Even to myself
Because the past is lost
And if the then is lost
Will I lose today?
