So Cold
Cold, so cold
So very very cold
On the surface
Where we lie
Silent, quiet, hushed
Where we stay
In part, and
Descending to depths
we protest
Ascending to light
we demur
So cold we remain
here so far under the sun
So cold
So cold
Cold spheres of liquid
Ones we tried to shed
the frozen remnants
of a life once lived
Eyes sealed shut
Encrusted by ice
Lips, baby blue
oh so blue
Sealed shut
Cheeks pale
Veins frozen
Blood, frozen
So cold
So cold
No feeling left
Nerves broken
Skin a frozen sheet upon the surface
No breath
faulting so softly
Our chest is still
No flutter
No movement
So cold
So cold
Oh so cold
We lie on the frozen
Surface of this
frozen world
Frozen solid
As we try and struggle
to flutter a bit
So cold
So cold
Our blood is frozen
Our tears are ice
Our breath is gone
Our skin is cracked
So cold
So cold
Awaiting the day
We boil in this wasteland
This frozen wasteland
