Destiny's Daisy
Walking through the woods
Trying to figure things out,
Lost in thought
I tripped on a root
Barely missing a perfect white daisy as I fell
Staggering to my feet
I picked the daisy
Hurt both inside and out
Unable to regain complete stability
I threw my self upon a near by stump
Looking down in awe of my daisy
Admiring its beauty
Stricken by an uncontrollable urge
Unable to restrain
I glide my fingers over the pedals
I pluck one away
Letting it fall to the forest floor
“He loves me”
We had something special
Another pretty petal plucked
“He loves me not”
I made a huge mistake
A third white petal let free to the wind
“He loves me”
I explained how much I regretted it
Another petal slips from my fingertips
“He loves me not”
I hurt him a second time
A white petal goes swirling in the wind
“He loves me”
I’m trying my best to make it better
I have done everything in my power
To make it right
For him to forgive me
At the moment of hesitance
A strong gust blew
Stealing the partial daisy from my grasp
Whisking it away
Swirling with the fall leaves
Destiny untold by the beautiful flower
Flustered I gather myself
And began wondering deeper into the forest
Deeper into my mind
Continuously playing out the scenarios in my head
Always wishing, hoping, and praying
For my chance, my day, my opportunity
