There once was a boy
life for him was tough
hard battles were fought with his demons every night
his spirit was strong
but distractions kept him weak
unwillingly he had to give in at times
to their temptations

There was once a girl
who so desperately tried to be real
insecurities locked her up and shook her in her cage
a smile and confidence was all that reflected
she cries out for help often
too silently to be heard
emotions take over when she turns her back
fumbling for the right thing to do
she beats her self up over every little thing
whispers, accusations
fill her mind
helpless to the voices that scream out in her mind
"You are never right, never good enough, never will be"

But he tried to remain a wall
where nothing could penetrate
"Leave me alone!"
shouts at anyone inching near
mistakes were made
