A Kingdom
I used to rule a kingdom, yes,
Before it crumbled down,
It was my fault I must confess.
It was because of all that stress,
Now my smile is a frown,
I used to rule a kingdom, yes.
Now my life’s importance is much less,
In sorrow I do drown,
It was my fault I must confess.
But how it was, you will not guess,
This place was not renowned,
I used to rule a kingdom, yes.
And grief’s long fingers do caress,
My features all around,
It was my fault I must confess.
But one last thing, I must digress,
My thoughts now come from ghostly towns,
I used to rule a kingdom, yes,
It was my fault I must confess.
