Like a mask worn on Halloween
Protecting one from the dangers lurking
A chance to recreate one’s image

Like a mask worn on Halloween
Turning children into savages
All rules are forgotten

Nobody knows how one was before,
A fresh, new beginning
A chance to recreate one’s image

Like a mask worn on Halloween
Separating one from their personality
A blessing only few receive permanently

Never knowing where they belong,
Never knowing what they have done wrong.
Wondering why they feel out of place
Just looking to be embraced.
