A childhood of calamity for sure,
Yet her thoughts did not become impure.
Her mother murdered by the transparent faces,
Yet she still cared for all races.
Her father willingly exits her vision,
Nonetheless she lived strong through this outsized incision.
She found a man that got on one knee,
Who helped her become president of Arkansas chapter of  NAACP.
Both writers of the African American newspaper,
Fighting to end something so major.
Her prevailing fight against segregation,
Showed the true power of her dedication,
To unite all races of the nation,
By undergoing racial emancipation.
Her masterpiece called the Little Rock Nine,
Helped bring the race of desegregation towards the finish line.
Having nine African American children attending a white school,
Was enough to make her look like a fool.
Central High School in Little Rock,
Was instantly put into shock.
Local whites became filled with rage,
Disputing she’s wrong and displaying rampage.
Yet she still pursued on with this act,
No matter the brutality of each attack.
The President and governor attempted to provided the upmost protection,
But nothing could protect her or the children from the lack of affection.
Yet through the struggle she managed to end school segregation,
Once the nine blacks began to receive the same white education.
Now today many mixed faces,
Receive the same education  no matter their races.
Just as the students here at Dickinson,
Who are quiet diverse reliving the racial friction.
This diversity may not have been  possible,
If  Daisy Bates effort for this wasn’t colossal.

What inspired me to right this peice was the fact that it is black history month. By it being Black history month this caused me to go out and learn about a civil rights activist who's actions were great and still felt today.
