Nothing but Nothingness
The clear mist surrounds me
It swirls in odd shapes
making unearthly figures
The cold damp air
hits me hard at my face
As I stand there and shudder
There in the air
Hangs the familiar rotten smell
of what I wonder…
Perhaps of the decaying flesh
of those helpless mortals
slain by the sins I have done
The eerie silence echoing with ghostly frenzy
mocks me
And there laugh those evil spirits
partying over their graves, having fun.
A movement in the bushes around me
catches my eye
A small dark creature
with sinister intentions ‘neath its skin
Hiding behind the dark
waiting for the perfect moment to jump in
To leap upon and rip me into pieces
To rid me of the mistakes I built
And to let my soul free
to fly away without
the burden of guilt.
The moonless night sky turned black with ashes
as I walked further
And all of a sudden a deadly tranquility took over
Not even a hum, not even a stutter.
I looked around
There was nothing but nothingness
Brimming with an eerie silence
crying out its helplessness
The void, I then realized
is where it all originated from
the hatred, the evil, the anger, the dark,
the disgust, the contempt, and rest all which was stark
The void, I then realized
was nothing but the hollowness inside of me
the emptiness that had always surrounded me
I didn’t stay and continued to walk further
Oblivious to the cries, oblivious to the screams
Oblivious to the voices inside my head
and the turmoil which ruined my dreams.
All of it will exist forever
nothing can bring it to cease
Nothing but the sunlight in my world
which long ago abandoned me…
