Change
My heart aches
As my mind drives
Through this road of memories.
My eyes fill with
Those tears of betrayel,
As I marvel at how everything has changed.
Everyone looks the same,
Yet nothing is.
My mind screams denial,
And I scramble to cling to what's left.
I pull at this cobweb of what remains,
But my tugs only create more holes.
Finger by finger, I let go,
Hoping for the best,
But feeling each new hole
As it is created in my chest.
