A Strong Act

I put on a strong act
Smiling through the hate
Inside I'm hurt in fact
I keep getting attacked
I fight back but I'm to late
I put on a strong act
The pain in their words never lacked
Trying to get them to stop, I wait
Inside I'm hurt in fact
Like a pin board I am tacked
I hope this is not my fate
I put on a strong act
With my words I have whacked
But I am still their bate
Inside I'm hurt in fact
My body is packed
With damage like a dinner plate
I put on a strong act
Inside I'm hurt in fact
