White and Black
The place I choose to be,
My haven:
Cold in the winter,
Sweltering in summer,
Yet I love to be with my black and white.
The soft ivory keys feel
Like silk against my nimble finger tips.
Ebony, the complete opposite
And yet the attract.
Making beautiful music
Is what I choose to do.
In my complex mind
Interchanging musical notes effortlessly and quietly float,
Connecting making different rhythms and patterns.
At times of happiness and light
Or during times of sorrow and darkness
White and black is who I turn to
In any situation God throws at me.
I love it
I play it
My piano is all I see.
