A Wandering Thought
I sit in silence left to ponder
My mind adrift, my thoughts do wander
Contemplation and serious thought
Surrounding the subject of life's true plot
The meaning and purpose, the hows and whys
Some live peacefully while others die
As I sit and ponder such things
I'm reminded of the fact that life has wings
Time flies the older we get
The choice we make is to thrive or regret
Death is certain, an inevitable end
But Life is more chance, we all hope to win
I personally choose to live without care
So that at the end of my days the world will know
That the black winged Icarus was there
