My Fragile Heart
You know how I feel,
I put it out there.
I know how you feel,
I drew it out of you.
You’re breaking my fragile heart,
I’m letting you do it.
I let you see into my mind,
You turned your back to me.
I opened your eyes to something different,
You went back to the same old thing.
You’re breaking my fragile heart,
I’m letting you do it.
You took me somewhere I’d never gone,
You grabbed my hand, whispered, “come on.”
I knew things couldn’t get any better, I was sure of this,
You introduced me to a state of Bliss.
You put my heart back together once again.
Yet in my heart I felt a tear,
You went back home and left me there.
Without a backward glance or stare,
A new addition to that tear.
A crack, a break,
A fracture, a stake!
You’re breaking my fragile heart,
And, as always, I’m letting you do it.
