Dont Speak
Don’t speak.
The unspoken words,
all over your face are enough
to break my heart.
Sharp shards shattered
everywhere.
The more you try to fix it
the worse it gets,
aching more, hurting more.
Don’t speak.
Every time a word forms,
a tear falls,
father, faster than before.
Ice cold down my cheek,
freezing my heart
to match your’s.
Maybe then
you’ll love me.
Don’t speak.
It stings to hear
what I already know.
I’m not good enough.
Not now, not ever.
I don’t understand,
I can’t grasp
how someone so kind
can be so cruel.
Don’t speak.
The unspoken words,
all over your face are enough
to break my heart.
