Stopping by Mountains on a Sunny Day
I am so high up in the sky
So elevated that I feel like I could fly
I gaze at the ground below while on the mountain’s peak
As some clouds sail right through me while others just pass by
I cannot even speak
For this breathtaking beauty leaves me weak
Mother nature offers all her wonders to me in this day
She shows me all that I seek
This moment washes all my worries away
I decide that I will sit down in the soft green grass and pray
As I close my eyes and breathe in the fresh mountain air
I ponder how I could convince my parents to let me forever stay
I decide to open my eyes and conclude my prayer
As a gorgeous day like this in North Carolina is quite rare
I know that staying forever would not be at all fair
So for now I resolve to just sit back and stare
