The Artist of Nature
With the sound of a crack I turn my head,
I see a squirrel behind the soundtrack of nature.
I notice as he runs the colors appear behind him,
The brown trunks of trees and the green leaves.
The different colors begin to appear as he runs,
green grass,
brown dirt,
yellow,
red,
purple,
and blue flowers.
Suddenly he jumps from branch to branch,
the soft, baby blue sky with pillow fluffy clouds appear.
Then, the explosive bright sun appears, beautiful as he lands,
just to grab a bag of peanuts I left on the bench.
