The Golden Star
He sits up on the wall,
Shinning brightly to all that pass.
He shines,
He smiles,
To all that pass.
But as he hangs there in the bitter hours of night,
He realizes that the people do not come up to him because he is beautiful,
But because they pity him for the life he could have had.
They pity him with his poor decisions that have left him on the wall,
All alone.
They pity him for he has to hang up there and watch all the people pass,
Who are not alone.
He has sat on that wall for hundreds of years shinning,
Never thinking about his loneliness.
His shine fades,
He lets the loneliness creep into him.
He lets out a heart stopping scream and fades,
Forever into his loneliness.
