A Ballad of The First Book of Swords
The lame Smith forged, and he made,
Quenched in the blood of man,
Twelve splendid, magical blades
One went to a miller’s hand
This blade, Townsaver it was called,
Saved the town, but with a price so stark
It caused his firstborn son to die and fall,
And the blade went on to Mark.
Mark took the sword, and travelled on,
With an emotional wound so fester
He, on the mountain, to the gods called upon
And later he joined with Nestor.
Dragon hunter was Nestor's occupation,
And dragonslayer the blade was in his care.
But alas! For they were attacked in duration,
The blades were swapped before they were aware
Nestor was taken, and to Draffut he was flown,
While there, Queen Yambu raised up the muddy masses;
Draffut went to make the problems to the gods known,
And Nestor used Townsaver to save the men and lasses
Sir Andrew, then, the good kind liege,
Was by the queen and muddy hordes attacked;
She placed his castle under siege,
For the magical blades she wanted intact.
Fraktin the duke was slain by the demon blue
Outside Andrew's castle there was cain
Sir Andrew the kind, a tunnel he went through,
The duke’s body on the floor was still where it lay
Mark followed soon, with Barbara and Ben
Coming up on an island about three miles hence
Looking back they could see the castle again
Where it sat, with fallen defense.
