Pained
It's almost as if
When the pain sets in
That ice is pushing through me
Like sharp and lengthy pins
My blood turns into little ants
They're crawling in my veins
I press my face against the window
Where outside it silently rains
My head begins to pound
And my heart starts beating fast
This keeps on recurring
From my not-so-distant past
Shivers run down my spine
It chills me to the core
But the pain subsides quickly as it came
And I can't help but wish for more
