goodbye, i love you
beneath my fingertips
the ashes of the dead
the memories of forever
all stuck inside my head
just like you had said
you’re still right here beside me
in your cold, lifeless self
only to remind me
of one million and one moments
and of twelve thousand roses
of all of our laughter
and of all of our doses
you shouldn’tve reminded me
of what i left behind
because as i lay above your grave
its you i need to find
searching for our hands
together intertwined
searching for your face
to see how it had shined
i wish i hadn’t missed you
i wish it wasn’t true
but as i sit above you
i don’t know what to do
the last words i can say
the last words of goodbye
the words i say i love you
the words i cannot hide
