A Walk With Edgar
And I'll make myself a sentiment,
I'll rescue all your pain.
I'll drag my heart across the floor,
From the ocean to the plain.
I'll read about temptation,
I'll study all of war.
I'll break a record in flat time,
And I'll settle all the scores.
Love is just a simple word,
With nothing to tie it to.
But when it comes to giving up,
I owe it all to you.
Life is just a figment,
Of each and all's imagination.
It takes time, patience, practice,
And a little realization.
Time isn't wasted,
But only merely spent.
If you simply give me a second,
I'll tell you how it went.
You fell upon your knees,
To show me all you bleed.
I laughed a little in your face,
But told you what you need:
"Honey, listen up to what I say,
I'll give you all the secrets.
Life is just a game you play,
With nothing left beneath it.
I don't know who you are,
I sure don't know where you been,
But if you keep on falling down,
There'll be nothing left to live."
