Hearing Words from Your Ex-Best Friend
Such little words,
but meanings in spades.
So much for best friends,
and you feel no pain.
You ask and you ask,
and I give all I can.
But now I don't know
how much I can stand.
I've been there each time,
your safe, reliable back-up.
But time and again,
your words and actions don't stack up.
So with those words,
I've said and done my last.
You think less of me,
so now the past is our past.
