Remember That Day?
Remember that day I ran into you?
Your expression was beyond surprise.
I was startled as well
when I saw the look in your eyes.
But you hid it quickly;
I was no longer there
You acted as if
I’d disappeared into thin air.
I’ve never had much practice
staring at people’s backs,
but ever since the day I met you,
it seems I do just that.
What are you thinking?
Am I not even worth it?
Are you seriously
ignoring me on purpose?
I was starting to get used to it,
when that next fateful day came.
After that one moment,
everything changed.
You apologized immediately
for knocking me onto the floor.
But the look in you eyes
told me it meant much more.
I looked up at your hand,
and your eyes that told it all,
and I knew instantly
you’d never again let me fall.
I remember that day
You put my hand over your heart
and said it was mine.
This is only the start.
Just as you promised,
you never let me go.
The day I asked you why,
you let me know:
Remember that day I ran into you?
Well, I did it on purpose.
Because from the moment I looked in your eyes,
I knew you were worth it.
