You said it wouldn't work,
That the times are too much.
-And my heart was the same-

You said I am not enought like you,
Said that I was foreign in the worship that I do.

The same, the same, the same.
My singing, leaping heart the same.
Brain tells it, "Stop, you're making me insane!"
Yet still my heart remains the same.

The author's comments:
I imagined the two people this poem is about are from different religions, like a Jew and a Catholic, or worse- a Jew and a Moslim. It's very sad that lovers have to be torn apart over like that.
