what they see
I put on layers of makeup.
With eye liner to top it off.
I burn my hair to straighten it.
And I put baggy clothes on.
I wear contact lenses to see.
Sometimes I don’t eat.
I guess I am just not happy with me.
I wonder what they see.
I listen to weird music,
Just to gain approval.
I am only myself with a few.
The rest of the time I barely got through.
At night I take it all off.
I do my workout routine.
I scrub of the layers of makeup.
Then I look in the mirror and wonder what they see
