Archangels
Angels we have heard on high,
Looking down upon our graves.
Sweetly singing our goodbyes,
We sadly take our last sighs.
And we promise to be brave,
Angels we have heard on high.
Then we fall and then we cry,
“Why oh why? Can we not wave?”
Sweetly singing our goodbyes,
Because we do not want to die.
Until we see that we are knave,
Angels we have heard on high.
We forgot that we could fly,
We fled and hid in a cave.
Sweetly singing our goodbyes,
Then we shouted, “Why why why?”
For the lives that we so crave,
Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing our goodbyes.
