Anyone can Relate
The lump that appears in my throat is real,
And you, the person reading my words know exactly how I feel.
You’ve felt the pain there in your chest,
You’ve learned it now, you know it best.
You know the person and the things they do,
You know the pain that they can give to you.
Hold onto these words, really breathe them in,
This is a flashback just coming from a friend.
With every lie from him, comes a smile to forgive from you,
He will never see your gratitude,
He will never be true,
This is just his attitude; there is nothing you can do.
Do you remember when you were on the ground?
Crying on the outside, screaming inside your heart,
You hushed your mouth so it wouldn’t come out,
But the pain still tore your heart apart.
You wait aimlessly and check your phone so frequently,
Oh God, you think; I’m acting so delinquently,
You go out with your friends and try to have some fun,
Only to feel bad when night comes for the things that you have done.
And in the end you wait for him,
Only because you have so much faith in him,
And you know the person he used to be,
So you look past everything you need to see,
And walk into a big dark room,
Where you’re the bride without a groom.
