To: Music
It offers me an escape,
And eliminates outside noise,
There are many songs that aren't first rate,
But there are also many that I enjoy.
The language doesn't even have to be my own,
And the words can be just as sweet,
It brings me into a world I've never known,
And introduces me to people I wish to meet.
It usually fills the silence that I cannot bear,
Soft instrumentals, or heavy guitar lines,
It flows through my speakers, and carries through the air,
And makes me want skills that might never be mine.
I sometimes wish I could be a performer,
And know the thrill of playing for many fans,
But unfortunately, I'm more like a bench warmer,
Because crowds make me nervous, and I don't know if I can.
So I will just appreciate my music for now,
Because I don't have to be famous to like it,
But there is one thing that I will never get,
The way some people don't like music just...how?
