The flowers do sway close to the ground
They sway upon the wind with nary a sound
Every color of the rainbow, gosh what a sight
Never seen when the sun is down, only when bright
Where flowers do sway close to the ground

Comes a maiden, quick of step, pretty of face
Her favorite spot, this wonderful place
The air is so still, no reason for you to fear
The whisper of the sound you hear, do not fear, it is but a deer
Came a maiden, quick of step, pretty of face

Moment by moment, the time seems to slip away
Easily done when you take repast in such a day
The clouds float and gather at the end of the sky
This meadow whence I came, where I will lay down and die
Moment to moment, the time seems to slip away

Comes a maiden, quick of step, pretty of face
Her favorite spot, this wonderful place
Here she will lie, through winter and fall
She will be as silent and lovely as her elegant doll
The end of a maiden, once quick of step, never again pretty of face
