Curriculum Vitae
A young girl rides
On the wings of time.
With the wind in her face
And the sun in her eyes.
O'er mountain,
O'er valley,
O'er marsh,
O'er dale.
Through brightness,
Through darkness,
'Round the Sun,
Through the gale.
She was raised in the shadow
Of a much brighter light.
A light so full of pain,
It burned out of fright.
She was her family's rock and stone;
Their sturdy, steady, and quiet foothold.
She minded not her predestined role,
She thought herself a meek yet wretched soul.
From her shadow, dark and cold,
She watched the intrigues of life unfold.
With a dreamers heart and a cautious soul,
She made peace with her shadow, and stepped out of it's hold.
She took a quiet look and sobbed,
As she realized she'd never been alone.
For she was surrounded by stars
And she herself shone.
The shadow had been
Not a shadow at all.
But the peaceful darkness of night,
Quiet and calm.
That much brighter light,
Would burn itself out.
For it burned far to bright,
To remain in the clouds.
And there, in the dark,
Will be left the gentle glow,
Of a dreamers heart,
And a cautious soul.
