The Troubles of War
Maybe across the sea
to have no problems, all they need is a key
They want an escape
From the memories, Even though they don’t have a cape
The soldiers will go marching down
to fire their guns that make a loud sound
They will fight for their life
sometimes only with a knife
The soldiers will go marching up
sometimes left only with a cup
to the unknown of a battle
All they hear is gunfire rattle
The soldiers will march
past the arch
of the enemy’s abode
the no man gets left behind code
The soldiers will march into the unknown
Bullets will fly and some might moan
Not all will be able to move again
And nothing can amend
The soldiers will go marching to
the wretched war to do
and see things they never wanted
They will be the haunted
The soldiers will fight
in the lonely night
They will fight all day
Until we say
“Our country is free from war”
And wish they can soar
Some often become homeless or
jobless and they don’t have a door
Maybe across the sea
to have no problems, all they need is a key
They want an escape
From the memories, Even though they don’t have a cape
They are our heroes and they don’t even know
But soldiers will be hit with memories, with a blow
Soldiers will try to hide
from their problem, and they will have cried
