Where did all the moments go?
Where did all the moments go?
I clearly see them fade
What happened to the little world,
That you and I had made?
We captured them in photos
We wrote them down in song
How quickly though a lifetime flies
Now short, what once was long
Where did all the moments go?
I miss my dearest friend
A parting chapter now at hand
Our time is at an end
Teachers, Actors, Engineers
You have an endless list
You’ll leave and make new memories
And make up for ones you missed
Where did all the moments go?
I ask as you fly on
I never thought this day would come
I’ll miss you when you’re gone
Childhoods of home-made films
And stands of lemonade
These moments are the core
The center of the world we made
Where did all the moments go?
I guess this is goodbye
Some day we will meet again
With families, you and I.
The memories we built were my whole world
Even if just pretend
You were my hero, my brother, my partner
And you are my best friend

Graduation is often a time of leaving loved ones and I am no exception. My best friend, Henry and I knew each other since I was in first grade and we never gave up on each other, we never left the other, and we always knew how to have a good time. So with all these memories of him as we part ways, I wrote him a poem on honor of our friendship.
