On Arrogance
Amidst the autumn's somber sky, a crack of light struck low;
It bellowed forth with fierce a roar, and caused the public glare.
For all the town did bat an eye, and sickened by the show,
Abhorred the gleam displayed on high, so dealt in turn their blow.
Its tongue they slay, its pride they tore, its back left justly bare;
A mem'ry now, that boastful w****, forgotten as the tare.
