I prefer to keep my eyes closed,
For my imagination can run wild...
As a deer springing in a meadow
Or the babbling brook nearby
Like the eagle soaring high...
I prefer to dream away,
For I can live like characters of fiction...
Rebellious and indomitable
Unchained by,
Expectation and restriction...
I prefer solitude to company,
For it drowns my voice out...
And I can pick up the half-knitted piece
Of a memory and weave it in peace
Tripled with nostalgia and doubt...
