Secret Hearts
In the courtyard they did meet
Both had a secret to keep;
The man had love on his heart,
The lady she had pierced it like a dart.
She prayed to be known by him
But her chances they did look grim
But maybe it’s all in her head,
And he is ready to be wed.
One day he’ll ask her,
And cause her heart to stir
Flutter, and skip around in joy,
And, oh, he will be a lucky boy.
His heart will be mended,
Her wishing will be ended
And together they will stay,
And face the fray.
