The Popular Kid
I am sitting here staring at a screen
Trying to persuade myself it is not like it seems
That I have friends
That I am loved
That there is someone who enjoys me
Someone who would cry if I died in a tub
A person who would wish they had sent a message
Or said hello
Who would regret
Leaving me all alone
I don’t know if it was something I said
Or if maybe I am filled with too much dread
But I just want one friend
Who can give me a hug
Instead of trying to give me drugs
Oh Abe Engleke
The most popular kid in school
Some would say the bully
But he was a better friend then all of you
Even if the rumors were true
He was actually nice and talked to me
He responded to people
And made me happy
He put all those rumors to waste
And showed me how kind he was
He wasn’t as strong as everyone thought
He had doubts
And sure he copied handouts for school
But he counted more than all of you
He would drink
But he was also the funniest person I knew
Some thought he was mean
But they didn’t really know you
He would stand up for those in need
And okay maybe he has smoked weed
And yes he has dated quite a few girls
But honestly he was just trying to find himself
He was my friend
Even though he barely knew my name
He put everyone else to shame
Because all of you threw me on the ground
and rubbed me all around
But Abe
He stayed the same
Him always my friend
Me, the invisible girl he didn’t really know
But he was worth more than gold in my book
Even if I was just another streak
Abe engelke
The popular boy
Who made mistakes
But you all took them too far
So stop spreading rumors
U should know aren't true
Because when someone does something wrong
Doesn’t mean we should forget about all the good too
So thank you Abe
For giving me an escape
From all these people
Even if it was for less than a week.

even though this isnt a good poem, I love the story and meaning behind it.
